For Linux, prepackaged binaries may be available through the usual channels for your distribution or are currently in preparation. Note that TeX Live (since version 2009) and MiKTeX (since version 2.8) both include TeXworks for MS Windows. See also Repology, the packaging hub for more details about pre-built packagesįor the latest development versions, see Online resources. You can get stable release binaries for the following platforms: This capability is based on the “SyncTeX” feature developed by Jérôme Laurens, and supported by both the pdfTeX and XeTeX programs in TeX Live and other current distributions. The integrated viewer also supports source/preview synchronization (e.g., control-click within the source text to locate the corresponding position in the PDF, and vice versa). TeXworks includes an integrated PDF viewer, based on the Poppler library, so there is no need to switch to an external program such as Acrobat, xpdf, etc., to view the typeset output. With DVI at all, but can generally treat TeX as a system that goes directly from marked-up text files to ready-to-use PDF documents. Although it is possible to configure a processing path based on DVI, newcomers to the TeX world need not be concerned The normal TeXworks workflow is PDF-centric, using pdfTeX and XeTeX as typesetting engines and generating PDF documents as the defaultįormatted output. Qt also provides a rich application framework, facilitating the relatively rapid development of a usable product. The Qt toolkit was chosen for the quality of its cross-platform user interface capabilities, with native “look and feel” on each platform being a realistic target. To provide a similar experience across all systems, TeXworks is based on cross-platform, open source tools and libraries. It is deliberately modeled on Dick Koch's award-winning TeXShop for Mac OS X, which is credited with a resurgence of TeX usage on the Mac platform. The design for the Odyssey G7 S28 model is similar to the original Odyssey G7, except refined in several ways. Instead of arranging this review sample from Samsung, we bought this monitor from retail for testing. Given Samsung's recent history of quality control issues, we wanted to test this display to see if any of the same issues are present. This new 4K panel generation is the most affordable yet, and the Odyssey S28 is no exception, usually available at around $700, which is in the ballpark of its competitors and more affordable than the $900+ 4K monitors from years prior. The Odyssey G7 S28 is one of several new generation 4K 144Hz IPS displays for gaming, mirroring the specs of popular monitors such as the Gigabyte M28U, and the panel used here appears to be the same model from Innolux. It's a little disappointing how Samsung has ruined the naming scheme for the Odyssey G7, but with that cleared and out of the way, we don't want to get caught up in that too much. In contrast, the original G7 is a 1440p 240Hz 27" curved VA display, otherwise known as the LC27G75T, so clearly these are two very different products and you don't want to be confusing the C27G7 with the S28AG7 model. Samsung also advertises it as the "Odyssey G70A 28-inch" or the "Odyssey G7 UHD 28-inch" in various countries. It's called the LS28AG700 (usually with even more letters and numbers after that depending on your region), but for this review we'll be shortening it to the S28 model. The new Odyssey G7 brings to the table a 28-inch 4K 144Hz IPS panel aimed at gamers. Now you might be wondering, hang on a moment, didn't you already review the Odyssey G7 way back in 2020? And you'd be correct, but last year Samsung released a new Odyssey G7, which is a little bit confusing, however it's a very different monitor in terms of specifications. Today we're reviewing the Samsung Odyssey G7. If you don't see any sell orders, there is a chance you are looking at a honeypot, or there is some type of restriction on selling in place. Select “Cut” if you’d like to move the file to another location. There are also various third-party software alternatives to Windows 11’s default clipboard manager. Select “Copy” if you’d like to duplicate the file somewhere else. Right-click on the files, and you’ll see a context menu pop-up. Select a file, folder, or group of files you’d like to Copy or Cut. The same principle works in File Explorer and on your Desktop. You can then right-click in a destination document and select Paste to put the contents of the Clipboard in that location. First, select an element of a document (such as a web page), then right-click, and you’ll likely see a context menu that includes Copy or Cut commands. In many programs, you can copy, cut, and paste using the right button on your mouse. How to Copy, Cut, and Paste Using Right-Click These shortcuts aren’t as commonly used today, but they are still almost universally recognized in Windows. If you need to copy in a program that interprets Ctrl+C as a break character (such as a terminal emulator), you can use Ctrl+Insert instead. These shortcuts now work in Windows 10’s Command Prompt, too. Paste: Select a destination by clicking on an area (or by placing your cursor in the position where you want the information to go), then press Ctrl+V.Cut: After selecting one or more items, press Ctrl+X, and the information will be copied to the clipboard and removed from the original location. The information will be copied to the clipboard. Copy: After selecting one or more items using your mouse or keyboard, press Ctrl+C.Microsoft borrowed these shortcuts from the Mac, which still uses them with the Mac’s special Command key instead of Ctrl. It’s important to know the three fundamental keyboard shortcuts for Copy, Cut, and Paste included in Windows for decades. How to Copy, Cut, and Paste Using Keyboard Shortcuts Microsoft These fundamental concepts apply across almost every application, so let’s go over the various different ways to copy, cut, and paste in Windows. That means you typically use copy to duplicate information, and cut to move the information from one location to another. In contrast, when you perform the cut operation, Windows copies the information to the Clipboard but also removes the information from the original location. When you copy something, Windows makes a copy of the information you want to the Clipboard and also leaves it in its original location. RELATED: How to Enable and Use Clipboard History on Windows 10 The Difference Between Copy and Cut But that is an optional setting you have to turn on in System Settings. In Windows, you can even synchronize your Clipboard between devices using the cloud. Then you can recall them as many times as you want quickly by pressing the Windows+V keyboard shortcut. Typically, the contents of the Clipboard reset when you restart your PC, although it is possible to pin items to the clipboard in Windows 10 and 11 using an opt-in feature called Clipboard History. When you Paste the information you copied, Windows retrieves the contents of the Clipboard and puts it where you want it to go. When you copy or cut something (such as a block of text, an image, or a link), Windows temporarily stores the data in a special memory location called the Clipboard. How to Copy, Cut, and Paste Using Application Menus How to Copy, Cut, and Paste Using Keyboard ShortcutsĪlternative Copy, Cut, and Paste Keyboard Shortcuts The only problem with Scaldera is execution. Scaldera demands the player to use a new tool found in the temple and offers an explosive tug-of-war game that requires proper positioning and quick reaction. The internal explosions crack parts of the boulder and reveal a weak spot behind it that can be hit with the sword. Once Scaldera takes a deep breath in order to spit fire in Link’s direction, the player should also throw bombs inside its mouth. To defeat Scaldera, players must use bombs to push Scaldera back, as the creature rolls down once its legs are protected inside its boulder-body. The player fights Scaldera on a ramp, where the boss runs upwards and tries to set Link ablaze with its fiery body. The boss looks somewhat clumsy, but as soon as you see Scaldera lit on fire and running in your direction, it quickly becomes a real menace. However, Moldarach’s fight feels too familiar to rise above other more satisfying combat encounters, especially when the boss shows up a second time as a miniboss in the Sand Sea.Īt the end of the Earth Temple, players must face Scaldera, a fiery boulder with legs brought to life by Ghirahim. Moldarach is a perfectly satisfying boss battle. Once the scorpion’s claws are destroyed, the player must use the Gust Bellow to find the boss burrowed in the sand before Moldarach jumps over the player. Since Moldarach is one of the first bosses of Skyward Sword, the fight starts easily enough, with the player using sword movements to hit eyes hidden inside Moldarach’s claws. That’s because Moldorach is a giant scorpion that can burrow in the sand. With the Gust Bellows, Link can blow the sand away, a mechanic that’s perfectly integrated into the boss fight. The creature guards the exit of the Lanayru Mining Facility, where Link gets his hands on the Gust Bellows - one of the techno-magic tools that anticipated the themes explored in Breath of the Wild. Moldarach is a classic The Legend of Zelda boss in all senses. So, by the end of the game, defeating the Imprisoned once again is more bothersome than engaging. Nevertheless, the boss battle doesn’t change enough to become something entirely new. At the same time, the demon learns new tricks to move faster towards the Sealed Temple. New fights add something to the mix by allowing Link to coordinate a bombing attack that stops the Imprisoned for a few seconds. The biggest problem of the Imprisoned is that players must defeat the creature three times during the game’s main story. If the combat were engaging, this wouldn’t be too much of a bother, but to defeat the Imprisoned, Link must literally destroy its toes, making the demon fall down and expose a weak spot on top of its head. Should the Imprisoned reach the temple, it’s game over, and you need to redo the fight from the start. The Imprisoned tries to bring something different to the franchise by adding time pressure to a boss fight, as the player must defeat the gargantuan demon before it reaches the Sealed Temple. And I guess we can also agree that it’s not exactly fun to hit said creature's toes to defeat it. We can all agree it feels incredible to fight colossal creatures. RELATED: 'Skyward Sword' Ending Explained: And So 'The Legend of Zelda' Begins Therefore, if you haven’t finished the game yet, explore the skies a little more before going through this list. We are also about to spoil all boss fights on Skyward Sword HD. A list such as this is somewhat subjective, but we’ll try to make our point the best as possible. Thus, in celebration of the remake’s release, it’s time to rank all big baddies by how satisfying they are to destroy. To make things even better, Skyward Sword is one of the few games in the franchise to feature a Boss Rush mode in which it’s possible to fight against your favorite bosses all over again.Įven if Skyward Sword is far from perfect, its approach to boss battles deserves praise. Also, now that the HD release of Skyward Sword is available on the Nintendo Switch, players can use the button controls to swing the sword with precision, making boss battles more satisfying. While all The Legend of Zelda games are known for their memorable boss fights, Skyward Sword offers some of the most thrilling duels in the franchise. If you’re concerned about viruses and the other nastiness floating around on the internet, Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac is the best software for Macs. Still, it’s certainly better than nothing and handy in a pinch. Time Machine protection is a valuable addition, too, as an extra safety net to keep backups safe from ransomware attacks.A further nifty extra is the integration of Bitdefender VPN, although that said, the data allowance here is limited to 200MB daily, which is very little – so it’s only good for very occasional use. That helps defend against the possibility of you transmitting a Windows virus to your friends or family who might have Windows 10 PCs. That includes multi-layer ransomware protection, solid anti-phishing capabilities, and very robust AI-powered web browser protection delivered via an extension.īitdefender Antivirus for Mac also offers an adware blocker and is a good performer when it comes to scanning and picking up on Windows PC malware. It’s not just about core antivirus defenses, though, because Bitdefender also lays claim to a broad set of features. And, while you're at it, be sure to invest in the best Mac VPN as well. To help you, we found the best Mac antivirus software specifically designed to protect Apple systems and gathered them all on this list – whether you're looking for a paid version or a free one. We've tested many of the best antivirus apps on the market, so we know which ones are the absolute tops. Heck, even a one of the best free options is better than nothing. After all, Apple products aren't cheap, and you don't want to have something pricey be crippled by a cyberattack. You will need Mac-specific antivirus software designed to work with the unique demands of macOS to protect that new Mac. However, malicious programs targeting Macs and MacBook Pros have not only become increasingly common, but also more potent. MacOS is Unix-based, which is sandboxed, so it can be challenging for viruses to do any real damage. I might leave it for a few days, then re-install ClamXAV and see if things start up again. There’s an enormous potential target out there that is irresistible to hackers and cybercriminals, considering the sheer amount of Mac and MacBook owners around the world. So ClamXAV may not be the cause of the panic, but might it be the cause of something else that is then causing the panic? Which may all be correct, but my panics always reference clamd as the panicked task, and it's been stable since I uninstalled it. Above all, I suggest that you speak to Apple Support regarding this, as your Mac is new and it's not infeasible that a firmware issue relating to the M1 is the reason why this is happening." The panic log should also include details of the last loaded kernel extension, I suggest you check for this and unload that extension to see if that helps. This is known as a backtrace and is similar to how stack traces work (if you're familiar with them). This does not mean that clamd is responsible for the panic, it means that it was the last task that the kernel was handling when the panic occurred. In the panic log excerpt that you've attached, clamd is stated as the panicked task. If the kernel is panicking due to third party software, this is something Apple needs to address, and you should report it to them. The kernel is purposefully isolated from regular applications (such as ClamXAV) in order to prevent kernel panics occurring as a result of third party software. Since we do not use kexts in ClamXAV, none of our code runs at the kernel level. ClamXAV does not make use of any kernel extensions, therefore ClamXAV (including our process clamd) cannot be solely responsible for a kernel panic. "Firstly, kernel panics are generally caused by hardware issues with your Mac, or, issues with third party kernel extension (kexts) - usually in the form of device drivers or similar. I've uninstalled ClamXAV and things seem to have been stable for about a day and a half. Several kernel panics per day where machine freezes for about 5-10 seconds (cursor won't move, no input or output) then a flash of pink screen before machine seems to partially restart and I have to log in again. All you have to do is wear it to bed and triple tap the device before you go to sleep and do the same thing in the morning. In addition to activities like walking and running, the Misfit Shine can also track your sleep. Tiles can be tapped to drill down to even more info about the active times. When you swipe up on the screen you’re presented with a graph that displays your active times throughout the day. The app also shows your burned calories and distance walked. By default it shows you your points earned for the day, which translates to steps when you tap the circle. The app allows you to view the stats in a simple format. All you do is place the tracker on the screen and wait a few seconds till it’s done transferring the data. To sync your info from the Shine to the app, you don’t have to use Bluetooth, WiFi, a cable or press any buttons. I’m exhausted just thinking about that, so I stick with the default of 1000 points which means if I fulfill the daily goal, I end up walking for 2 hours. The highest goal that can be set is 9900 points, which would require you to walk 16.5 hours, run 5.5 hours or swim for 7.5 hours. You can change this to be as low as 100 points which would be 10 minutes of walking, 5 minutes of running or 5 minutes of swimming. Goals are based on points, with the default set to 1000. Basically for every 100 steps you walk, you earn 10 points, so the default goal is 10,000 steps per day. I was bummed to find out that there isn’t an Android app for the Shine yet. To set your daily goal, you’ll need to use the iOS application. The Shine uses a high precision 3-axis accelerometer to track your activities including walking, running, sleeping, swimming and cycling. After the Shine shows your progress, it then displays the time of day by first shining the LED at the 12 o’clock position, then the current hour position and finally the current minute position, which blinks for a few seconds before the LEDs fade off. The more LEDs that illuminate, the farther you’ve progressed towards your daily goal. When you do, the ring of LEDs will light up. To see your progress you just tap the top of the tracker with your finger. Even sleeping with it caused no discomfort at all. If you don’t like the rubber sports band, there’s a leather band option and even a necklace that you can buy separately for $79.95 each. I usually find sports bands to be uncomfortable, but I had zero issues with the one included with the Shine. You can put the Shine in your pocket or attach one of the two included holders which feature a rubber loop that fits in the groove around the edge of the tracker.ĭuring my review of the Shine, I either carried the tracker in my pocket or I used the included sports band. Clip-clop, clip-clop, clip-clop: ah, that means it's those charging skeleton-horse things that throw bolos. Strafing, strafing, forever strafing - the recognisable noises of each enemy type letting you know what's behind you, to the right of you, to the left, or legging it around the corner ahead. The billowing clouds of gunsmoke and atomised Egyptian stone often make it impossible to tell just what you're shooting at, so you pile the heavy ordnance into the cloud, listen to the massed death cries and pick off whatever's left once the smoke clears. Both the larger foes and your own arsenal become capable of trashing big huge chunks of ancient architecture. The on-screen enemy count grows and grows until it reaches preposterous numbers - then adds a few dozen more for good measure. Freed from the dim little streets and let loose in giant, golden desert ruins, the looming great pyramids a constant and monumental backdrop, Sam finds his groove. It seems so familiar - except it's occupied by remote-controlled zombie slaves and alien monsters instead of the current crop of military shooters' tendency towards faceless jingoism. Corridors and grim-grey Middle-Eastern desert towns filled with collapsed towerblocks. Or, at least, so it had me suspecting for its vaguely miserable first few hours. If the original Serious Sam was the values of Doom II transplanted into the aesthetics and technology of early 2000s first-person shooters, Serious Sam 3 is the values of Doom II transplanted into the aesthetics and technology of early 2010s first-person shooters. There's no way it can top this." But it does. Each new weapon marks a leap upwards in the scale of its increasingly absurd onslaught of enemies and crumbling scenery, and each time you'll think "good grief, this is ridiculous. Serious Sam 3 is a constant prelude to itself, an ode to destruction forever building to greater crescendos, an orgy of cartoon violence that keeps on inviting new participants instead of slowing down and catching its breath.
